The Food Exchange Guide, 64-pages, provides food lists based on the Exchange Lists for Meal Planning, developed by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). Additional foods have been added to assist the user. Each list provides a single serving size with total number of calories, grams of carbohydrates, protein and fat. Fast food and combination lists (Italian, Mexican, Asian, and American dishes) provide serving sizes, calories and exchanges.

The Food Exchange Guide is a flexible and easy-to-use guide listing a variety of foods in the following categories:  Starch; Milk/Yogurt; Other Carbohydrates; Fruit; Vegetable; Meat/Protein; Fat; Combination Foods; Fast Foods; and FREE Foods.

Record your MEAL PLAN in the front pages of the guide. SAMPLE MEAL PLANS (ranging from 1200 to 3000 calories) are provided with consistent carb distribution throughout the day as Breakfast, AM Snack, Lunch, PM Snack, Dinner and Late Snack. To develop a personalized meal plan that fits your lifestyle, use the exchange list system (through the help of a registered dietitian-RDN and/or a certified diabetes educator (CDE) then follow your plan with a consistent number of exchanges each day to manage your diabetes, PCOS, or metabolic syndrome.
